Everyone plays the game of society without being aware of it.
For Jed McKenna enlightenment seems to be about being aware of this, waking up, being aware of the fact that we are playing a role in society, and that in fact we don't have to play.
>Remember that you are an actor in a play, the character of which is determined by the Playwright: if He wishes the play to be short, it is short; if long, it is long; if He wishes you to play the part of a beggar, remember to act even this role adroitly; and so if your role be that of a cripple, an official, or a layman. It is also possible to play, intelligently at society's game and win, have fun outplaying society.

# Nature or nurture?
In the [[Monkey Brain]], we have this structure for [[Status game]] etc. but society awakes it and reinforce it with nurture. **Avoid the news like the plague**.
