# 99 percent of online content is junk food
[[Toby Ord - The Lindy Effect|The Lindy Effect]] is becoming a more and more useful [[Heuristics|heuristic]] as the [[Information|information]] generated by humans is increasing
It is one of the way to distinguish useful content from non useful
Somehow the easier it is to access a form of content, the less likely it is Lindy proof. For example it's really easy to see a tons of Tiktok, Youtube, or Twitch content but really hard in comparison to read a book
So what is junk food?
When we mention junk food, as in stuff you put in your stomach, not in your brain, we call it "junk" because it merely harms your body (but our [[Biology/Evolution/Monkey brain/Monkey Brain|old brain]] tends to provide short-term reward to it).
