| Research the topic | Familiarize yourself with main ideas, arguments, and counterarguments. Helps facilitate discussion. |
| Establish ground rules | Set guidelines to ensure everyone feels welcome sharing thoughts. <br> Listen actively, respect others, avoid attacks/interruptions. |
| Prepare questions | Develop open-ended questions to provoke reflection and discussion. <br> No right/wrong answers. Encourage critical thinking and sharing perspectives. |
| Create atmosphere | Ensure venue is comfortable and inviting. <br> Arrange seating in a circle/semi-circle. Provide refreshments if possible. |
| Facilitate discussion | Guide conversation and ensure everyone speaks. <br> Encourage sharing thoughts while balancing speaking/listening. |
