# Transevolution: Doing more with less & Getting rid of obsolete algorithms

In the grand narrative of human evolution, our species has been remarkably adept at overcoming the challenges posed by our environment. From the era of hunting mammoths to the complexities of modern society, we've specialized in tasks that ensured survival and dominance. Yet, this specialization came with a cost.
Our brain is now physically hard-wired for our ancestral environmnent, where the monkey brain still dominates our decision-making processes. The monkey brain is essentially in charge of navigation and dealing with the physics of the world. It's the part of the brain that's responsible for our survival instincts, our fight or flight response, and our ability to navigate the physical world.
On the other hand our new brain (neocortex) is responsible for our higher cognitive functions, such as reasoning, language, and problem-solving. It's the part of the brain that allows us to think abstractly, to plan for the future, and to imagine things that don't exist in the physical world.
Think of the neocortex as a little boy sitting on the back of an elephant:

As this philosopher Alfred North Whitehead pointed out, the evolution of civilization has been marked by our ability to offload cognitive tasks to the monkey brain so that we can focus on more important things.
Technology is a new way to do so, for example when using Google Maps to navigate a city, we're offloading the task of navigation to Google's algorithms, freeing up our neocortex to focus on other things.
AI has recently reached an [[Activation energy|activation energy]] that allow humans to program the world, that is to create life, in a very intuitive language: English, this is called "[[Software 3.0]]". This is a game changer, as it allows us to offload even more tasks to technology, and to focus on the things that really matter.
What really matters? It's a question for philosophers that we still haven't answered in decades. Let's assume that 42 is what counts.
### On building the bridge between homo sapiens and homo deus
In the quest to transcend our biological limitations and evolve from **homo sapiens** to **homo deus**, a pivotal strategy emerges: **expanding the repertoire of operations we can perform without the need for conscious thought**. This evolution hinges on identifying the most significant leverage points in this task offloading process. Is it artificial intelligence, the boundless potential of energy, the vastness of space, or perhaps an interplay of these elements?
Artificial Intelligence stands out as a prime candidate, promising to revolutionize our capacity to offload cognitive tasks. However, realizing this potential requires a foundation of more sophisticated models that can seamlessly interact with the real world. These models must not only understand and process our requests but also execute actions in the physical realm, bridging the gap between abstract thought and tangible outcome.
Moreover, the integration of this advanced AI, or [[Software 3.0]], with the existing web infrastructure is crucial. This integration will facilitate a seamless flow of information and control between the digital and physical worlds, enabling us to harness the full potential of AI. By laying down the infrastructure for Software 3.0, we pave the way for a future where the distinction between human and machine intelligence blurs, ushering in an era of unprecedented capabilities and freedom from our biological constraints.
### On death
Our acceptance of death as an inevitable part of life, a feature of our biological existence, has shaped our societies, our cultures, and our individual lives.
Death essentially is an algorithm that was pretty useful to [[Pruning|prune]] the old and obsolete, making room for the new and improved. It's a feature that has been hardcoded into our DNA, a mechanism that has ensured the survival of our species for millions of years.

As we stand on the brink of a new era, powered by the symbiosis of human intelligence and artificial intelligence, we are in capable of transcending the limitations of our biology. We can now envision a future where death is no longer a feature of life, but a bug in the system.
It is our DUTY to fix this bug.
