# Visual noise
I'm astonished how much people undervalue or ignore the importance of visual noise in design whether in your software, coworking space, activities, etc.
For example in my code editor if I leave the "problems" tab open which keep changing a lot while I'm coding it disturbs me a lot.
When you listen to an audio book in the street you're much more focused when watching the ground because there is less new information, the patterns are homogenous
In coworking spaces it's better to have desks facing walls (if the goal is to get shit done, if the goal is to be social, sure you can put people facing each other)
Basically humans are chemical robots that take inputs and generate outputs but we ignore this and ignore that many inputs provided thru our life are not aligned/useful to achieve our [[Personal growth/Goal|goals]]
