Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I’ve tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.
Man is an animal,
A drop in the universe,
A machine with an illusion of control,
In a mortal coil.
Desire that is never fulfilled
He is but stuck in a strange loop that is "consciousness",
He is but a creation of his own imagination,
His own mind,
Stuck in a time capsule,
Living in a self-centered illusion,
A victim of his own making.
He is addicted to manipulation,
His own and others,
And the world around him is a reflection of that,
A projection of his own shadow.
He is a slave to his own desires,
And the world is his playground,
Where he can act out his fantasies,
And the consequences be damned.
He is a child in a man's body,
A walking contradiction,
And the world is his oyster,
To be plundered and exploited.
