# Simulation is intelligence
I see recurring patterns in many industry and area where [[Rationalism is simulation|simulating]] things is a factor to success and "[[Philosophy/Rationality/Intelligence|intelligence]]".
For example, [[Leading in sports|Bill Walsh would always simulate games in his mind as a coach beforehand]].
There are many papers in [[Computing/Intelligence/Machine Learning/Machine Learning|Machine learning]] that tried to incorporate a simulation component, also, [[Yann Lecun]] suggest it in [[Autonomous intelligence]].
In the area of [[Rationality]] and using [[mental models - A Wandering Mind How Travel Can Change the Way You Think|mental models]], [[Second-Order Thinking]] is strongly emphasized, which is simulating the consequences of a decision and its individual parts to get a better idea of what will happen and how to act.
In [[Biology]], simulation allowed researchers to learn about [[Evolution|evolution]] or speculate ideas.
In a way, [[Writing]] allows you to simulate, it is like having a second [[Brain|brain]], because what you develop by writing cannot be reached, or hardly, by mere thinking.
In [[Business 🔨]], [[Marc Andreessen]] says that the best [[Entrepreneur]]s have in their mind a well thought, detailed, and long distance, execution plan for the future of their project(s).
Young felines use play as a mean to simulate fighting and hunting to be ready when they grow up
