She graduated from the University of Padua and the University of Oxford, and she is currently a professor of physics at the University of Oxford. Her research focuses on understanding the fundamental principles of quantum mechanics, and she is particularly interested in the use of quantum information and quantum technologies. She is also active in the public outreach and education of quantum science and is a member of the steering committee of the Quantum Information and Quantum Control Group at Oxford. She has been awarded numerous awards, including the prestigious Isaac Newton Medal in Physics in 2019.
