And then a lot of other rocks, for the most part, made out of combinations of different minerals. So for example, if you've ever gone to some one's house or a nice bar nd. You see that they have a granite counter top. Granite is a rock that was formed deep under the earth. And the minerals, sort of, the ingredients, are the components that make it up are, for example, quartz, of quartz and granite. You also can get a mineral called feldspar which is this beautiful little pink mineral that has lots of shiny surfaces. It's made up of a mineral called mica, which has two forms, biatite and muscovite, which are like these beautiful, flaky rocks that you can form. So a mineral is sort of there, like the ingredients that make up rocks. And then rocks are just theyr materials that come out of the earth. So few, for example, like a rock that you pick up, again, just off the ground, is just going to be just as much of a rock as, you know, a cliff you see ind a hilltop. Now, words like silt or sand or pebble or boulder can be technical terms to talk about how big the rock is. So ifrr talking about the size of a rock, we can split on categories. We have the tiniest sizes of earth materials. But if wo're thinking about the size of rocks. You can start all the way up to a boulder, which is a technical term. So rocks above a certain size are boulders.
