# Values Introspection
_Action: Reflect on your [terminal values](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intrinsic_value_(ethics)), value ranking, value-action alignment, and integrity. The prompts below will help you think through this area of yourself._
### **Values**
_Action: Write out your current terminal ([intrinsic](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intrinsic_value_(ethics))) and [instrumental]([https://psychology.wikia.org/wiki/Instrumental_value#:~:text=Instrumental value (or extrinsic value, means of achieving something else.&text=An ethic good with instrumental, being an end in itself.)](https://psychology.wikia.org/wiki/Instrumental_value#:~:text=Instrumental%20value%20(or%20extrinsic%20value,means%20of%20achieving%20something%20else.&text=An%20ethic%20good%20with%20instrumental,being%20an%20end%20in%20itself.)) (extrinsic) values. Rank and weight them if possible. It helps to try answering the questions "What is important in and of itself?" and "What is important for other reasons?" This question may also help: "What might I be willing to die for?" After you've created your initial lists, you should research more to see if any changes are warranted. Good resources are the [Theory of Basic Human Values](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theory_of_Basic_Human_Values) and [Rokeach Value Survey](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rokeach_Value_Survey). You may also want to do the [Intrinsic Values Test](https://programs.clearerthinking.org/intrinsic_values_test.html). If you’ve previously held different values, include them as well._

### **Ideal Life**
_Action: Write out your ideal life. Who would you be? Not be? What would you be doing? Where would you live? Who would be around you? What would you spend your time, money, energy, and other resources on? What would you eat, wear, experience, and have? What would you know? What else would be part of your ideal life? Try envisioning your ideal day, week, month, year, and decade to stimulate more clarity. If you’ve previously had different visions for your Ideal Life, include them as well._
- Time:
### **Eulogy**
_Action: Write out the ideal speech your best friend or family member would give at your funeral. Or just the bullet-list highlights. If you’ve previously envisioned different eulogies, include them as well._
- Time:
### **Paragons**
_Action: Write out all of your current paragons, whether they be people, communities, things, etc. These are the “best in class” examples of how to be, what to do, how to organize, etc. They are sources of inspiration and emulation. If you have paragons from your past, include them as well._
