  • Focus on making products that users truly love and have a passionate relationship with. Build for that first passionate user rather than scale.

  • First impressions matter - think about all the small touches and moments that delight users, not just the big marketing launch. Surprise and delight.

  • Support and customer service is critical - have your product builders doing support to close the feedback loop.

  • Reduce churn by showing existing users you care - small gestures like handwritten thank you notes make a difference.

  • Hire those who can work remotely with discipline. Respect people’s time and focus.

  • Experiment and test different ideas to motivate and delight users. Not everything will work but keep trying.
